Astrology of January 7th, 2017: Sympathy and Acceptance

After the intensity of last night, we can all use some support from the Universe, and today has been giving us a string of aspects to do just that.

The morning started out early with the Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces, giving us emotional grounding in harmony with our dreams and ideals.  Of course, that may have gotten the morning off to a slow start for many of us, but given that it’s a weekend in winter, that may be just what the doctor ordered – a chance to rest and recharge for a bit, and spend some time with our imaginations while Taurean pragmatism keeps our emotions grounded and ensures that we don’t get completely lost in the ether.

This afternoon the Moon in Taurus sextiles Mars in Pisces, making our energy as soft and dreamy as our imaginations, and continuing the likelihood of this being a lazy day.  That said, this is a great time for creative pursuits, as well as time spent with loved ones, as Pisces is sympathetic while Taurus enjoys good food and good company, and both are artistically inclined, whether creating or appreciating.

This evening becomes a bit less dreamy and briefly more inclined toward getting things done, though still at Taurus’ slow and steady pace, as the Moon trines first Pluto and then the Sun, both in Capricorn, giving us a dose of Capricornian dedication and the Plutonian urge toward transformation.  The Moon/Pluto trine may also amp up emotional intensity a bit, but in a far more practical and less destructive way than with some other sign/aspect combinations.  Still the Moon/Sun trine sets off a void-of-course period that lasts until tomorrow afternoon, so any desire for action should be channeled into strictly routine activities, finishing up old business or (more likely) enjoying small social gatherings.  With a sextile from the Moon in Taurus to Chiron in Pisces near the witching hour, late-night conversations may turn confessional, a time to uncover old hurts with an eye toward healing, and we are more likely to be both sympathetic and able to accept the truths we discover in this process.

(All aspect times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time.  I tend to speak in broad terms when I reference time on this blog, referring to time-frames like “morning” or “afternoon” rather than specific times, since I still have a lot of friends on the East Coast who read these posts and I’d like them to be pertinent to those friends as well as folks here on the West Coast.  Readers from further abroad will need to adjust time-frames accordingly.)
