Today’s Astro Weather: November 18th (Part 2) & 19th, 2021

Venus in Capricorn trined Uranus in Taurus at 10:08pm PST Thursday night, and quincunxed True Black Moon Lilith in Gemini at 11:07pm, putting Lilith at the apex of a Yod with Venus sextile Mars in Scorpio that continues through Friday morning. Venus rules Taurus, where the Full Moon occurs at 0:57am, followed by a Lunar eclipse in Taurus at 1:03am, visible here in the Seattle area as a near-total lunar eclipse (97%), and one of the longest Lunar eclipses of the century. This eclipse occurs on the baleful fixed star Algol, but also conjoins Electra in the Pleiades, and in combination with the Yod suggests withdrawal from or refusal of worldly expectations and demands, even to the point of discarding logic and seemingly “losing one’s head,” needing to walk a different path than that which is socially prescribed, in order to adhere to one’s integrity and a sense of justice.

Sometimes we find that what seemed strange and surprising before is actually more familiar than we thought. The Venus/Uranus trine directs us to the unusual and even the rebellious now, yet with Venus in traditionally-minded Capricorn, the new and unusual does not present itself as strangely as we might expect. This trine suggests that in keeping with the root meaning of revolution, we may return to something we thought was in the past in order to go forward. This is a time to find excitement in the familiar alongside comfort in the unusual. And in the process, we discover that the old adage gives us perspective on the future: The more things change, the more they stay the same.
