New Astrological Art: Natal Chart for Lisa

A colourful drawing of people, animals, and scenes in a pie wheel with 12 sections, reflecting archetypal and elemental themes. These include: a snow leopard clutching the end of a red ball of thread that has rolled between two red roses and stopped in front of a bluebird; a man in a purple jacket and turban standing in front of a field of golden wheat, holding a long list out toward the woman in a spring green toga in the next section, who has her back to the viewer and faces dinner guests seated at a long table; an ancient Greek helmet with glowing green eyes on a pile of gold coins underwater; a Chinese sage dressed in green, contemplating a fiery horse galloping into a field of stars; a peacock feather behind a bright green serpent stretching out to taste the air above the sage's head; a black Madonna, a steaming cup of tea in a jade cup on a jade saucer with a jade lid pulled back to reveal the green-gold tea inside; an aquarium with several small moon jellyfish and a bright purple sea nettle swimming in front of them; a golden ram's head surrounded by flames; a curtain of wisteria; a flamenco dancer with a peacock feather in her hair; a Chinese calligraphy brush painting the silver rays of a star, with a cloud blue feather quill drawing another ray of the star, and a section of binary code (0101000) extending from another of the star's rays; an aqua and teal-coloured mermaid with black and teal hair petting the snow leopard.

This is a commissioned drawing based on a client’s natal astrology chart, made to help her understand the archetypal forces at work in her chart and how they relate to her life and her natal potential. I love doing these kinds of commissions, because they help people to know and love themselves better!

The original measures approximately 4″ x 6″ – greeting card sized – and was drawn in Micron pen and Berol Prismacolor pencils.
