What’s Happening
Today’s New Moon in Capricorn forms a Mystic Rectangle with the Lunar Nodes, emphasizing the need for patience as we learn to navigate the collapse of old structures this winter and prepare to seed a new reality with the spring.
The New Moon in Capricorn encourages us to ground our feelings in what is practical, recognizing our limitations and resting in the Lunar darkness, so that our bodies can go the distance when we need to. We can’t make real progress on our long-term goals if we are worn out and despairing. This darkness too, shall pass.

Another Astrology Video
Of course, Capricorn season has flown by already, and now we’re heading into Aquarius season, with the the Sun’s ingress into Aquarius immediately followed by Venus’ conjunction with Pluto in Aquarius. That can intensify our social consciousness and our awareness of the power dynamics at work around us.
Fellow astrologer Liz Muschett has once again brought Joy Vernon and myself back onto her show “The Astrology Star Sisters” to talk about the astrological weather through the lens of Tarot, with a focus on the Aquarius ingress.
During this episode we take an in-depth look at the Bowl aspect pattern this ingress enters, including some Tarot cards associated with the planets and aspects involved. As usual, Joy and I do side-by-side interpretations of the Tarot cards from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck and the Thoth deck.
This gives Tarot students and enthusiasts a chance to compare and contrast these two iconic decks, while learning about the cards that correspond to the current astrological weather. And of course we draw cards to give a little extra information about how to handle the complexity of our current times.
