Today’s Astro Weather: December 7th, 2021
Mercury in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces at 7:16am PST, setting a confused tone for the day. Our rational minds may have difficulty discerning the truth through a fog of uncertain hopes, idealized impressions, well-meaning intentions, and misplaced sympathies. Disillusionment looms large now, as what we previously thought was righteous turns out to be not so helpful or kindly after all. More than one would-be hero may take a fall today. It is important to remember that being human means making mistakes and false starts, and sometimes debunking pretty myths. If you’ve fallen prey to conspiracy theories or misinformation, you may be very disappointed to realize now that you’ve been had, but that simply gives you an opportunity to hone your discernment skills, recognizing that the details may need to be fleshed out some time when the truth is easier to take.
All that Neptunian confusion might be difficult enough on its own, but then Mars in Scorpio squares Jupiter in Aquarius at 10:21pm PST. Jupiter expands whatever he touches, and Mars is our drive to get what we want. Thus, Mars/Jupiter transits can see us biting off more than we can chew, and there is a real risk of burnout now. Those who are already inclined to be ruthless in pursuit of their goals may go into overdrive today, and gentler souls may wish to take extra care to avoid becoming doormats, especially with Neptune calling attention to our softer, more compassionate yearnings. Today may feel like a hamster wheel, both dizzying and exhausting, and as a result, we may question whether societal norms regarding productivity and achievement are actually helping us or hurting us. More is not always better, and the ends don’t always justify the means.
