What’s Happening: New Moon in Aries

This Friday’s New Moon in Aries tells us it’s time to start something that redefines who we are, something that is going to get motivated in a big way by what challenges us. This New Moon conjoins Chiron and Eris in Aries, who have been loudly calling our attention to old wounds, deep fears, and all the ways we overcompensate for them. It’s time to see our pain in a new light, to recognize that real courage and valor are born when we face our fear, rather than denying it.

This weekend’s triple conjunction of Mercury, Mars, and Saturn in Aries are being equally loud already, telling us that whatever is being seeded during this New Moon demands swift and disciplined efforts repeated over time. That requires that we steady and pace ourselves, so that we don’t go off half-cocked and do more damage to ourselves through recklessness Yet this time can also be the inception of something quite marvelous and liberating, should we be willing to do the work.

My friend and fellow astrologer Liz Muschett recently brought me back on her show The Astrology Star Sisters to talk about this New Moon and the planetary alignments colouring it.

Two Videos in One Week!

Yep, Liz and I recorded another video this week, this time for the third episode of Cosmic Connections, a relationship astrology show with Robert Pacitti and Justin Crockett-Elzie.

This series was originally intended to be monthly, but the schedules of four busy people took a while to circle back together again, so while we are hoping to make the show more regular, I’m making no promises now about when the next one will be.

Our topic for this episode is the powerful and life-changing friendship of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, co-stars of the hit movie Wicked. These two have had an extraordinary impact on each other’s lives that brings deep emotional resonance to the collective.

We analyze each woman’s chart individually, then look at the synastry of the two charts together, as well as the composite and Davison charts to see the nature of the relationship both publicly and privately.

New Art

While all that’s been going on, I’ve been working on more divinatory art behind the scenes. My Patreon patrons get to see a lot more of this process than anybody else, with writing about the transits informing my work as well as process photography, plus large format files of my finished work for download.

My most recent piece is this drawing that was started all the way back in November. The process creating this drawing ties together two of Venus’ transits through signs of her detriment while Jupiter has been exalted in Cancer, and culminated with Venus in her domicile of Taurus while square Pluto in Aquarius. Venus in detriment has to get creative to connect with people and bring the beauty and love that makes life worth living, especially in a society that doesn’t know how to handle her more forward side.

During this heavily Aries season we find ourselves in, Venus in Taurus brings a balancing touch of practicality and enjoyment of our senses to help steady our resolve while we face so many calls to action from the Aries New Moon and stellium.
